Tendering

To accompany this page you’ll find a SpotLearn tutorial on the
RESOURCES/TUTORIALS page called “Tender Essentials”.

The important elements you need to know are:

  • Do we bid or not bid? - a ‘decider model’ is in the tutorial
  • Do we understand the needs of the PQQ? – this is the Pre Qualification Questionnaire you may be asked to complete
  • Have we got all the information together that is necessary for tendering? – a top tip is to keep a file, we call it ProcurePack, so all the essential information is to hand
  • Have we thoroughly understood their needs? – can we help them be more efficient or achieve greater savings?

The tender document will detail the information that is required. Read it carefully!

There are ways you can increase your chances of winning. These include:

    1. Be on time with deadlines
    2. The advert is the first of the procurement stages. Ask if you are uncertain about anything in the advert.
    3. Ensure you provide all the information required in the PQQ. Tailor your experience to what is required.
    4. An invitation to tender is an invite to make an offer. Note their criteria and how to meet them. If uncertain ask.
    5. You may find it is a requirement to meet external assessments of quality assurance. ISO 9000 may be a requisite.
    6. If you are unsuccessful ask for feed-back. Use it to improve.
